Introduction:

Zupisin Ointment is a topical antibiotic. It is indicated for the topical treatment of primary and secondary bacterial skin infections such as Impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis and ecthyma, and infected dermatosis. It can be used to avoid bacterial contamination of small wounds, incisions, and other clean lesions and to prevent infection of abrasions and small cuts and wounds. Zupisin Ointment works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria.

Avoid using this medication around your eyes, nose, mouth, and large areas of damaged or broken skin. The treated area may be covered by the proper dressing.  Mixing it with other preparations should be avoided, as there is a risk of dilution, resulting in a reduction in the antibacterial activity and potential loss of stability of the mupirocin in the ointment.

Side effects of Zupisin Ointment:

  • Burning localized to the area of application
  • Itching, erythema, stinging, and dryness localized to the area of application

  • Always use Zupisin Ointment as told by your physician.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients of this medicine.
  • Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment as advised by your doctor.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes. If contaminated, the eyes should be thoroughly irrigated with water until the ointment residues have been removed.
  • It should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking.
